The Team Behind Equi-Study...

Equistudy is led by Sarah Davenport and Alison Gregg — two passionate educators and equine professionals with decades of experience, a shared love of horses, and a deep commitment to changing the industry for the better. Together, they bring a rare combination of academic knowledge, hands-on skill, and lived experience to every course they create

With over 40 years in the saddle, Sarah’s career has taken her across a wide range of disciplines — from eventing and showjumping to training arab racehorses and competing in endurance. Her lifelong immersion in the equestrian world eventually led her to seek a deeper, more therapeutic approach to horse care. Sarah trained with the College of Animal Physiotherapy, earning her Diploma in Equine Sports Massage & Rehabilitation, and continues to expand her skillset in her studies of advanced equine osteopathy. Her interest in the horse-rider connection also led her to study human biomechanics and massage, helping injured riders regain balance and movement.

That path revealed another key insight: the way tack — especially bits and bridles — can either support or restrict the horse’s natural motion. Sarah pursued this with dedication, achieving LANTRA certification as an Advanced Bit & Bridle Fit Consultant, and becoming one of the few UK professionals to complete the Neue Schule Qualified Bit and Bridle Fitter course. Her work is accredited by EAPER, and grounded in the belief that both horse and rider deserve to move in comfort and harmony.

Working alongside Sarah is Alison Gregg, a dedicated educator with a passion for horse psychology, ethical horsemanship, and lifelong learning. Together, they co-develop Equistudy’s curriculum — always informed by the latest science, best practices, and the lived reality of horses and the people who care for them.

With over 35 years at the helm of her own livery and rehabilitation yard, Alison brings extraordinary depth and wisdom to Equistudy. Her background spans dressage, showing, and more recently Working Equitation, where her eye for detail and calm, methodical approach have led to success at every level — including wins and placings at HOYS, RIHS, BD Area Festivals, and Regionals.

Alison is the heart of the Equistudy Academy, serving as our Principal Tutor, where her focus lies in equine rehabilitation, education, and mentorship. She’s a skilled practitioner with hands-on experience in post-operative care, rehabilitation planning, and returning horses to work — often when others had given up hope.

Her qualifications reflect a truly holistic approach: an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Fascial Release Techniques, Fascial Edge Tool Practitioner, and trained in Equine Touch, Cold Laser (Class 3B LLLT), and PEMF therapy. Like Sarah, Alison is also a LANTRA Approved Bit Fitter, and holds Advanced Bit & Bridle Consultant credentials, including a Distinction in Bits & Bitting Science from the Neue Schule Academy. Always learning, Alison is currently finalizing her studies to qualify as an Equine Osteopath, further deepening her already impressive therapeutic knowledge.

Our Mission ...

To transform equine education by putting the horse’s perspective at the centre.

We exist to shift the conversation — from control to consent, from assumption to awareness. Our mission is to educate those who work with horses to prioritize welfare, deepen communication, and embrace a more ethical, informed approach to care. Through accessible, evidence-based education, we aim to build a future where horses are truly seen, heard, and respected.

Our Vision For The Future...

We’re here to lead a quiet revolution in equine education.

Equi-Study was founded on one simple, powerful idea - that horses have something to say, and it’s time we listened. Our education platform brings together science, ethics, and empathy to help both professionals and owners understand the horse's world — not just their body, but their mind, emotions, and needs. We're not just another training provider. We’re a movement for change.
